EAST FRONT

Updated 081001
  1. TITLE: East Front
  2. PUBLISHER: Columbia Games
  3. SCOPE: (World War II) War in the East
  4. COLUMBIA WEBSITE VERBAGE: Barbarossa: June 22, 1941, Germany invades the Soviet Union to begin a titanic four year struggle unmatched in military history. Test your strategic skills! Command the Soviet Red Army or the German Wehrmacht on the vast steppes of Russia. Replay the epic Barbarossa, Stalingrad, and Kursk campaigns. EastFront is part of a three game series: EastFront, WestFront, and EuroFront. The second editions include larger maps, more units, and seamless integration into EuroFront.
  5. GAME BOX VERBAGE:
  6. YEAR PUBLISHED (EDITIONS): East Front has evolved into East Front II to fit into the EuroFront game system (East Front + West Front). Given Columbia Games policy of an online 'Living Rulebook', multiple iterations of rules exist with likely players having different versions. However the Living Rulebook is always the latest version with no archive versions available. The jury is out wheather East Front II is a superior game relative to East Front I or just a modified game to fit into the EuroFront system. (A parallel exists to SPI War in the East 1st edition relative to War in the East 2nd edition which was bastardized to fit into the War in Europe system.)
