  1. 100822: (wjs) NEW!! Check out the "SCENARIOS" section for newly added scenarios for use with VSQL! A new section has been added to include ASL scenarios which have been converted over to coincide with the rules from GI Anvil of Victory. With some additional modifications by the players themselves could, in some cases, be further modified and reduced to the levels of Crescendo of Doom,Cross of Iron or maybe even Squad Leader.
  2. 100709: (wjs) Update! The SCENARIOS section is now updated with new Scenario Cards for the TTS Series and also the SQLA WG### Series of scenarios. VSQL Players! For a complete list of current VSQL 4 modules check out the VSQL section. While the Vassal site is down for migration over to a new server, you can, for just a limited time only, download the latest modules of VSQL 4 and its extensions right here on the SQLA website! Once the Vassal site is restored, these files will be transferred back over to the Vassal VSQL files section on the Vassalengine.org website.
  3. 100415: The 2010 SQUAD LEADER Series event at WBC has joined the Grognard event format. Players are no longer restricted to the number of unique opponents and game played. A 4 player single elimination will start approximately noon on Saturday. To earn a spot, players will have to quality using the Grognard scoring system with minimum of three wins prior to Saturday noon. 2010 WBC is August 2-9, 2010 at the Lancaster Host, Lancaster PA.
  4. 100301: The 2009 SQUAD LEADER Series single elimination tournament player field of 16 has been finalized. Round one started on October 5, 2009. Round 1 completed; round 2 underway; majority of the remaining contestants are facing real life priorities.
  5. 091015: The Squad Leader Series (SQLS) AREA ratings are finally updated long overdue update. Phil Grasha is the new leader with a comfortable margin. At least until David VanBronkhorst becomes reactivated with completion of his round 1 tournament game. The number of active players has declined but will be expanded by organized PBEM play. A player must post a game completion within 2 years to be considered active; all old records are maintained. Update sent to the AREA webmaster. Full Excel file is found here.
  6. 090921: The 2009 Squad Leader Series tournament concluded on Sunday August 9 within the 2009 World Boardgame Championships in Lancaster, PA. Phil Grasha (PA) claimed top honors with Bill Thomson (TX), Pete Pollard (TN), and Andrew Cummins (UK) rounding out the top four positions. SGT Cummins won the PLC completion with +38 elan, outdistancing the other survivors. SGT Thomson, the 2008 winner survived four rounds (but always negative elan) to deny any claims to the Pollard Memorial Plaque.
  7. 090927: A new Squad Leader Series PBEM ladder has been formed as the SLlist ladder has been inactive since Feb 2006. We are seeking to identify all games in progress as of 01-August-2009.
  8. 090915: Vassal organized VSQL play now standardized on VASSAL 3.1.10 and VSQL 4.1.5
  9. 090901: SQLA has taken ownership of the SQLS Scenario Record (Axis win-loss record for each scenario). Phil Grasha takes over the reigns from Allen Evenson. Please report all game outcomes to Phil Grasha.
  10. Continue to send all VSQL 4.x scenario start files and VSQL suggestions to Bill Sosnicki.
  11. Continue to send all match results to Phil Grasha for inclusion into the SQLS scenario record. Include scenario played and the winning side (Axis or Allies).
  12. Send all SList ladder match starts and status to Bill Thomson.
  13. Continue to send all SLlist administration and subscriptions to Eric Pass.
  14. Continue send any AREA match results to Bill Thomson.
