SQUAD LEADER ACADEMY ADMINISTRATION

Revised 141229

Squad Leader Academy became an entity in 1981 providing support to the local Squad Leader player community in South Florida. Organized tournament play was initiated in the model created by the late Don Munsell, one of the original Squad Leader Series playtestes. Tournament conventions, Personal Leader Counter competitions had their origins in this group. SQLA grew into an archive of Squad Leader Series tool, softcopy rulebooks, scenarios etc. Eventually as similar treatment was expanded to other game titles by The Avalon Hill Game Company (TAHGC), Strategic Publications Inc. (SPI), and Game Designers Workshop (GDW), Wargame Academy (WGA) was formed. SQLA remains a dominant segment of WGA.
