to original Squad Leader Scenario Format

• Currently awaiting Permission to use these scenarios as modified by the copyright owner(s).
• These scenarios are adaptations of ASL Scenarios #1 to 10 from the Windy City Wargamers Color Scenario Pack originally created for their 1996 ASL Open Tournament and published by Louie Tokarz and the Windy City Wargamers Club of Chicago. These scenarios have been redesigned in order to resolve typos, make clarifications, and to modify any rules so that the scenarios fall in line with the rules first introduced in Squad Leader and the gamettes that followed. Hence they do not match exactly the published form. In addition, these modifications were designed with the intention of utilizing the G.I.: Anvil Of Victory rules set, however, with some additional modifications players may further downscale the scenarios in order to utilize the Crescendo of Doom or Cross of Iron rules sets.
• Also, presented here for download is the optional Heat of Battle Rules which are required for play of these scenarios. HOB rules provides some added depth while playing under a GIA enviroment for those times when an original '2' is rolled when checking a units morale. With HOB units may not always become Berserk but may instead generate a Hero counter, and/or become Battle Hardened (EX: A Russian 447 can become a 448 if Battle Hardened results), or the unit can become Fanatic if the unit is already at its highest unit level possible, or in some cases just outright Surrender! HOB rules must be used in conjunction with rules for ELR.
• Note: Under ASL rules German forces (full squads in particular) are considered as inherently equipt with Panzerfaust. For pre-ASL Squad Leader purposes here, any scenario taking place after July of 1942 the German player may roll a die for each equivalent FULL squad in its OB. A die roll of 1 adds 1 PF to its OB in 1942, a dr of 1 or 2 adds 1 PF to its OB in 1943, A die roll of 1 to 3 adds 1 PF to its OB in 1944, a dr of 1 to 4 adds 1 PF to its OB in 1945. After determining the number of PF allowed use rule 85.6 in COI to roll for each PF as to its version year. SS units are always equipt with the latest version.
